Photo Basics Class Lincoln Topics:

We will dive into your camera to get you comfortable in many aspects of modern digital photography including: 

• How lenses change the photograph


• Workflow and backup


• A basic run-down of your menu system, including how to reset it when you get lost


• RAW vs jpeg photo capture


• White balance


• On-board flash basics


• Focusing basics


• Automatic modes


• Advanced automatic modes


• Controlling brightness


• Basic composition for better photographs anywhere

When you take this class, we welcome you into our Rockbrook Camera EDU Learning Community. We have a private Facebook group for participants of our classes, which allows you to get advice and tips in a safe and positive environment. 

Our instructors are there for you to assist you along the way as you grow your photography skills and find your way in photography.

 

Who is this class for? 

If you are new to photography or just bought your new camera, this class will allow you to open up the incredible possibility that modern cameras are capable of. You'll leave the course more confident and will be able to start taking better images immediately. 

If you need a refresher, this class can help you with that as well. It covers all of the things that someone will need to take better images and understand what the camera is doing each time you go to take photographs. 

What you need for this class: 

Please make sure to bring your camera with a battery charged and ready to go. This is your opportunity to get hands-on instruction, and we'll be using your camera extensively in the class. Don't forget to make sure that you have space for new photos on your memory card! If you'd like to take notes, bring along note-taking supplies.

Cancellations

You must cancel this class 2 days prior to the start date for a full refund. Any cancellations within 2 days of the event will not be refunded since that class spot needs to be filled. If the class spot is filled, you will receive a full refund. 

If you do not show up for an event you will not be refunded.

Inclement Weather Policy: 

For most classes, we will conduct the event rain or shine. For dangerous weather conditions, we may cancel the event, and you will be notified of this by phone and email. 

Minimum Enrollment Policy:

Classes have an enrollment threshold. If that enrollment is not met, the class will be canceled and you will receive a full refund. You will be notified by email and phone.

Rockbrook Camera’s Photography Learning Pathway will guide students through four essential aspects of photography to efficiently use their camera equipment while creating beautiful photographs.

Developed by a professional photographer and teacher, the Learning Pathway will help build confidence and creativity and teach students to look at the world through a lens in a new way.
