Another new revision of Sigma's classic Art prime lenses, the lens incorporates 14 elements in 11 groups, with 3 aspherical lenses and 1 SLD glass element. Sigma has designed this lens to have extremely well corrected for lens aberations such as astigmatism and field curvature. Even with the aperture of F1.4, the image corner performance and sagittal coma flare has been minimized to allow strong light sources to have less flaring and ghosting, or pin point sharpness for light sources light stars. And newly implemented for the Sigma DG DN lens line is a new High-response Linear Actuator (HLA) motor for focusing and tracking on fast moving subjects with greater precision and accuraccy than the older HSM motors.
