Personal Photography Projects

It's a new season and a new opportunity to start a personal photography project to shake loose your creativity. It's normal to occasionally have a creative roadblock or feel bored with your photography. A themed project is a great way to explore something new while having a clear purpose of keeping you on track. It's also an excellent way to hone a skill. Projects can be any length: one day, a week, a month, or an entire year. The important thing is that you choose an amount of time that is challenging but also realistic.

When deciding on a project, it is also good to ask yourself questions to discern what you want to get out of the project.

What excites me about my photography?

What frustrates me about my photography?

What are some of my favorite things to photograph?

What are some subjects or styles I've always wanted to photograph but never tried?

What do you hope to accomplish or discover in doing this project?

What photo equipment and props will you need to create your series?

At the end of the project, what do I want to do with my images?

Photo Book, portfolio, photo gifts, etc.
